The Art of Self-Care: Finding Moments of Serenity Throughout Your Day
Every morning, my self-care routine sets a serene tone for the day ahead. As I savor a cup of coffee outside, I'm greeted by the cheerful chirping of birds. This is when I begin my gratitude ritual, which includes cleansing my energy with palo santo wood or sage. Following this, I meditate for about 20 minutes, allowing myself to fully embrace the calmness and clarity of the morning. Before diving into the day's activities, I take a leisurely stroll through my fruit and vegetable garden, connecting with nature and the vibrant life growing there.
On afternoons off, I indulge in preparing nourishing meals like a fresh salad or a fruit and vegetable juice, using produce from my garden or the weekly farmbox delivery. This act of creating something healthy and delicious helps reinforce my commitment to nourishing my body, and I always feel revitalized after these meals. The afternoons are also perfect for light stretching outside, tending to my plants, or enjoying playful moments with my sons. Recently, I've been investing time in a "somatic money trauma resolution" course, watching one module a day to deepen my understanding and personal growth.
In the evenings, my favorite way to unwind involves distraction-free cuddles and heartfelt conversations with my partner. Sometimes, we quietly read side by side in bed, a simple yet profound activity that nurtures our emotional intimacy. This routine isn’t just about relaxation—it’s a vital practice that keeps our connection strong and our relationship healthy.
